South Africa’s record tax revenue haul

The South African Revenue Service collected a record R674.2-billion in revenue in 2010/11. With over six-million taxpayers filing their returns online, 2.7-million returns were assessed within 24 hours, allowing for 79% of refunds to be paid out within 48 hours.
