US fears oil may spread into Atlantic

The US authorities fear that oil from the Gulf of Mexico oil slick may spread into the Atlantic. Experts claim the amount of oil spilling into the water from a damaged well is beyond estimation. They already refer to the consequences of the BP oil rig explosion as one of the major environmental disasters in oil extraction history.
