Unknown sculpture discovered in State Hermitage

Workers replacing old brickwork in St-Petersburg’s State Hermitage have discovered an alabaster sculpture of a man and a boy, believed to represent a runaway slave and his angry master. The sculpture was bricked up in February 1947.
