The Foreigners and Borders Service (SEF) have arrested a man in the Lisbon area, wanted by Interpol to serve a 20 year prison sentence for the crime of aggravated homicide in Recife, Brazil.
In a statement, SEF stated that the 28 year old man, who currently resided in Peniche in central Portugal, worked as a lifeguard in the Algarve.
Vítor Cabral Rocha was arrested on street in Peniche, after several investigative steps to find his location. He had been in Portugal illegally since 2018, living with his girlfriend.
He will be present at the Lisbon Court of Appeal and extradited to Brazil.
