Albufeira windmill opens to the public for two days only

The renovated windmill at Cerro do Malpique, Albufeira, will be open to the public for two days, opening on National Windmill day, April 6th, when the mill will be open between 4:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m..

At 9:00 pm there will be an open-air movie screening of the film, “Don Quixote, the ingenious gentleman of La Mancha”.

On Sunday, April 7, the visiting hours are from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

The traditional windmill for the old village of Albufeira was renovated in a project led by the architect José Alberto Alegria and was inaugurated in 2017.

The project cost €144,000, used traditional construction techniques and is able now to grind cereals so that visitors can see how the machinery works.
