Portugal pays slightly increased rates on 3-month bonds

Portugal borrowed 1.244 billion euros ($1.7 billion) for three months on the bond market on Wednesday, paying slightly higher rates from the yield at the last such operation.

The day after Greece shocked financial markets by calling a referendum on its debt rescue, Portugal raised the funds at 4.997 percent from 4.972 percent at the last such issue on October 19.
