KATHMANDU – A court in Nepal has convicted a Dutch man of sexually abusing children and sentenced him to nine years’ imprisonment, officials said Friday.
Hendrik Otto Molhuysen, 61, ran a centre for homeless children in Nepal’s capital and was arrested by police in 2007 while assaulting a 12-year-old and a 14-year-old child.
A Kathmandu District Court official said Molhuysen had been convicted of child rape, sent to jail for nine years and fined 50,000 rupees (EUR 765).
