THE HAGUE – Freedom party PVV leader Geert Wilders is still aiming to release his anti-Koran film Fitna before 1 April. But he did not want to say in the corridors of Parliament on Tuesday when and how this will take place.
The website on which Wilders planned to put the film was taken off the air on Saturday evening by US provider Network Solutions after it received complaints about the site. A Dutch Muslim organisation has also brought interim proceedings against the politician because of the film. The case will be heard Friday.
Wilders does say he has other options for publishing the film. But he will refrain from talking about the options so as to prevent any new setbacks. "I am not going to say anything more about it. I am trying to follow through on my promise to bring the film out before 1 April. The earlier the better. I am working on something, but I’m not going to say what," Wilders said.
The MP says he does not know who complained about his site fitnathemovie.com. He said the provider Network Solutions is ‘inconsistent’ because it hosts a site operated by radical Islamic Lebanese movement Hezbollah, he says. Wilders pointed out that so far his site only showed a picture of the Koran with an announcement that Fitna would appear soon.
