AMSTERDAM – Dutch prosecutors say they have released a 26-year-old Pakistani man arrested last month on terrorism suspicions due to a lack of evidence.
Prosecutors say in a statement released on Tuesday that an investigation turned up “no evidence” against the man.
They say he will be deported, however, as an “undesirable alien”.
He was arrested on 14 March in the southern city of Breda. At the time, prosecutors said he was believed to belong to a cell of Islamic extremists linked to an alleged thwarted suicide attack in Barcelona.
