French industrial output prices flat in February

PARIS, March 30 (AFP) – Industrial production prices in France were unchanged in February from January and industrialists continued to feel upbeat, data published Tuesday by the national statistics institute INSEE showed.

Producer prices last month fell 0.1 percent on a 12-month basis. In January they had climbed by 0.5 percent from December.

Core producer prices – excluding energy and food prices – climbed 0.2 percent in February, as in January, and were 0.2 percent higher than in February 2002.

In an index compiled by a survey of French industrialists in March, confidence about the next three months remained “above average” at 104 points, unchanged from the February reading.
