PARIS, March 12 (AFP) – The government repeated on Friday its forecast that the French economy would grow by 1.7 percent this year, a source close to the matter told AFP.
The government stood by its forecast in remarks to economists at the national economic commission.
The government also gave its first estimate for growth of gross domestic product in 2005, putting it at 2.5 percent, the source said.
