PARIS, March 30 (AFP) – French police on Tuesday confiscated scores of wild animals including a hippopotamus and a kangaroo from the premises of an animal importer near Charles De Gaulle airport outside Paris, according to an AFP reporter at the scene.
The menagerie, which also included llamas, donkeys and a zebu, was being transported with the help of welfare officers to nearby animal refuges.
The import company is under judicial investigation for breach of laws governing the sale of wild animals, police said.
