Europeans dream of a life without a job

HAMBURG – Most Europeans would like to give up their job in favour of following their real interests and for self-fulfillment reasons, according to an Internet poll conducted by the job portal StepStone.

Some 61 per cent of the 3,822 people interviewed in seven European countries responded that they would like to do something else.

Italians and the Dutch headed the list with two-thirds of them saying they would give up their job in order to do that which was of real interest to them.

In contrast most German (43 percent) and Swedish employees (41 percent) said they found self-fulfillment in their present job, describing it as a duty and that they could not imagine life without their work.
