Rail transport halted after train, car collide

BRUSSELS — Train travel to and from Brugge and Oostende was halted after an accident in Sint-Andries on Monday morning.

Rail operator NMBS-SNCB was deploying buses to transport stranded passengers, newspaper ‘Het Laatste Nieuws’ reported.

The collision involved a train and a car and one person is reported to have been killed.

The fatality has not yet been confirmed by authorities.

The precise circumstances of the accident are not yet known.

Sint-Andries is located near Brugge.
