BRUGGE – The Bruges city councillor for youth Lieve Mus wants to introduce a curfew for children playing on the Fort van Zevenberg square. If it were up to her, football on the streets would not be allowed after 8 pm.
The proposal, which will be submitted to the city council next week, is in response to protest from local residents who are sick and tired of the “nuisance” caused by the children on the square.
But not all the neighbourhood residents are happy with the proposal. “This is outright martial law,” says one resident who sees nothing wrong with the children playing football.
