BRUSSELS – An Olympic Airways flight bound for Brussels had to make an emergency landing in Munich because of a bomb threat. The Greek aircraft, carrying 130 passengers and seven crew members, landed safely at Munich this morning at 10.46 am.
Greek authorities report that the Athens police received an anonymous phone call warning of a bomb attack planned on the flight. The plane is currently in a screened-off part of the airport but nothing suspicious has been found on board.
The flight was destined for Brussels with a stopover at Strasbourg. There were eleven Greek members of the European Parliament on board, according to Greek public radio.
