BRUSSELS – Further proof, as if any where needed, that the planet’s climate is behaving decidedly oddly came from Belgium’s state weather office on Tuesday.
Less than a week after a cold snap that saw roads in the south of the country turned into snow-covered ice rinks, the Royal Meteorological Institute (RMI) said that Tuesday 3 February will almost certainly be the hottest 3 February Belgium has known.
The RMI is predicting temperatures of up to 16°C in Uccle, just outside of Brussels. The previous record was just over 14°C.
Ice-cream anyone?
