BRUSSELS – The majority of the Belgians (60 percent) use a trip to the shops to escape from the daily grind.
This emerged on Tuesday from a trend survey by Fedis, the Belgian Federation of Distributors.
Fedis surveyed some 25,000 Belgians. Mainly women, young people and Flemings shop for fun.
It is remarkable that less than 4 percent of Belgians say they use information from television, radio and newspapers in deciding on purchases. When consulting the internet on products, they mainly look for information about CDs, DVDs and electronics shops.
The survey also showed that 40 percent of the Belgians are willing to pay more when the internet has saved them time in researching a product.
