BERNE – There are still plenty of places available at most campsites set up for Euro 2008 fans with just two days to go before the first match Saturday.
Sites in Geneva, Basle and Zurich were proving slower to fill up but the fan camp at Kernenried just outside Berne had already warned campers on its website there were only few spots left.
According to the local newspapers, most of the campsites around the city are being occupied by Dutch fans.
The Netherlands play all their group C matches in Berne against Italy (9 June), France (13 June) and Romania (17 June).
One campsite around 10 kilometres away at Flamatt had renamed itself Oranje-Dorp (Orange village) as many Dutch fans are expected in the region, according to the Swiss wire service ATS.
