AMSTERDAM – The reports against politician Geert Wilders are piling up. The foundation Nederland Bekent Kleur has once again gone to the public prosecution department in Amsterdam to lodge a complaint about 20 violations of antidiscrimination legislation of which Wilders and his party, the PVV, are reportedly guilty.
Most of the complaints centre on comments Wilders has made in interviews. The antiracism organisation announced this on Tuesday. The report is being filed in conjunction with an earlier report the foundation filed in December.
Lawyer Gerard Spong announced at the end of January that he and 30 students were working on bringing suit against Wilders for inciting hate. During the same week, the Moroccan organisations in the Netherlands urged the prosecution department to go after Wilders.
The public prosecution department received dozens of complaints against Wilders last year after his statement that the Koran should be banned.
